So when MAC Announced a Viva Glam range with Rihanna, I knew it had to be red. Just hoped it wasn’t ririwoo again. And it isn’t. Yay!
“Rihanna launches our new M∙A∙C VIVA GLAM with two strikingly bold shades of red frosted Lipstick and Lipglass, perfectly capturing her fearless, confident style. Every cent of the selling price of VIVA GLAM Rihanna goes toward helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Limited-edition, soft-touch red packaging features RiRi’s signature.”
How it fared:
The packaging is the standard MAC Bullet but with a red casing carrying Rihanna’s signature instead of the usual black one. MAC describes the shade as blue based red with frost finish. It is a warm red shade with fine gold sparkles that render the frost finish. The lipstick had a smooth creamy texture and it applied evenly without any tugging or pulling. The pigmentation is semi opaque in one go but buildable to full opacity. In fact the shade layers really well without being heavy. It did not accentuate any lip imperfections. It was moderately hydrating on the lips and stayed the way throughout the period of wear. The shade lasted on me for about 5+ hours without much fading.
Overall: The shade of red is a very flattering one that can be pulled off by a range of skin tones without much effort. Not to forget the fact that 100% of the proceeds from the sale of MAC Viva Glam range goes to MAC Aids fund.
