True Red is one of the lipsticks from the recent MAC Pedro Lourenco collection. I have had enough time to play with it and here are my thoughts on the same!
Four shades in our Amplified finish created by the Brazilian fashion designer. Ruby, Roxo, Red and Beige encased in limited-edition, black packaging with a chic, velvet finish.
How it fared:
MAC describes True Red as vivid bright coral red. Though the naming is quite off, the description given for the shade is pretty accurate. It is a brightened orange red lipstick in amplified finish. It must be just me but the recent amplified finish lipsticks launched by MAC seems be much more hydrating and creamier than usual. This one was no exception. The texture and formula was everything I wanted Lady Danger to be. The shade is very very similar to Lady Danger. In other words, if you already own MAC Lady Danger and is comfortable with the formula and texture, you can easily give True Red a skip for it is a very similar shade in a glossier finish
The lipstick applied smooth and creamy without any tugging or pulling on the lips. The color was even and gave opaque coverage in a single swipe. Being a bright shade and due to the creamy nature of the lipstick, it does have a tendency to slightly feather/bleed if not used with a liner. The lipstick has the typical Vanilla fragrance attributed with MAC lipsticks. The packaging is really pretty, the black and gold theme with a velvet finish. It does give a visual appeal to the lipsticks in a classic way.The lipstick gave me a wear of 6+ hours before starting to fade.
Overall Verdict: True Red is a perfect coral red shade for the summers. I am loving it not just for the shade but the creamy texture and glossy finish.
