Finally I have my hands on both the Blush Ombres from the Proenza Schouler collection! I have seen mixed reviews about the blushes and I am assuming a quality control issue across batches. As for me I did not find both the blushes to be stiff nor did I face any issues getting good color payoff.
For the first time, the cool cleverness of the Proenza Schouler woman is captured in a collection of confident colour – slick, sleek and effortless with specially designed, limited-edition packaging. Lipstick cases, compacts and Pro Longwear pencils shine in a unique, luxurious metallic finish in a spectrum of colour from oceanic teal to glossed lemon and royal violet.
How it fared:
Ocean City Blush Ombre is described as coral orange ombre into beige. Both the shades within had fairly good color payoff though the beige part by itself did not do much on my skintone. I prefer to swirl the blushes together and love the resultant peachy shade the best. The pigmentation was moderate to buildable. The shade will work across skintones. The blush builds up well on layering, so it isn’t difficult to make the shade work on deeper skin tones as well. The blush blends well without being patchy. It wore well for 6+ hours on me before showing signs of fading.
Sunset Beach Blush Ombre is described as Pink Ombre into beige. In this case I would call the lighter part more pink and less beige than with Ocean City Blush. The texture and overall performance of the blush was at par with the Ocean city Blush. It was finely milled and had a smooth blendable texture. I did not face issues getting good color payoff with a brush. The texture did not appear dry or stiff with both the blushes. Infact, the finely milled formula was easy to apply and blend. The shade sunset Beach wore for 6+ hours on me before showing signs of fading.
Overall Verdict: Though I intended to only get the Ocean city from the collection, the mix up with shipment led to me buying both the blushes. Though I was skeptical about how Sunset Beach will look on me initially, it turned out to be a very flattering pink and not that cool toned as I assumed it to be. Both the shades wore well on my skin tone. The blushes had a finely milled texture and were easy to work with.
