A new high-shine formula featuring an array of creamy emollients, providing a lasting, glossy finish that leaves lips smooth and sculpted. A unique gel base allows each shade to smooth effortlessly onto the skin, with a feather-light finish giving immediate moisture, lasting up to six hours.
How it fared:
Limited edition shades are fine. But Limited Edition formula? Yeah That’s what I thought when I first saw the collection. But intrigue got better of me and I had to check this one out.
The packaging is similar to MAC pro long wear lip colors except that the former has a black casing and the huggable lip colors have a chic gun metal one. I find that the cap closes a bit too tight than normal. So I have to really pull on it to get it to open.
The huggable lip colors have a gel base that allows the color to go on as a smooth layer on the lips. I find that it kind of tugs slightly initially but as soon as the bullet warms up it goes on even and smooth on the lips. The finish is high gloss. There is a slight tackiness to the formula initially on application which sets in quickly and then doesn’t irritate you so much further along. The shade did not go patchy or uneven on the lips. The pigmentation is semi opaque to buildable.
The shade red necessity is a gorgeous warm wine shade. It looks more a muted raspberry red on the lips. The lip color did not settle into fine lines or accentuate other lip imperfections. In fact I found it moderately hydrating in nature. The only downside was about the 6 hours wear claim. The shade lasted on me for nearly 4 hours without any noticeable fading and when it did fade, it did so evenly leaving behind a pinkish red stain.
- Comfortable formula
- Gorgeous shade
- Went on smooth and even
- Semi-opaque coverage
- Glossy finish
- Moderately hydrating
- Slight tackiness on initial application
- Does not meet the 6 hr wear claim
- Limited Edition
Overall: Though I cannot vouch for all the shades from the Collection, the 2 pigmented ones; red necessity and commotion performed really well. The formula and finish is one of the better ones from MAC. I quite like the shade Red necessity from the range.
