So considering that the blog has not yet forayed into base makeup in terms of reviews, I thought who better to introduce than our renowned Face and Body foundation! After all, It is not every day that you come across foundations that becomes your Holy Grail.

How it Fared:

Before I start, let me tell you I am not an everyday foundation person. I have a pretty okay skin without much of blemish to cover (Touchwood!). So normally I settle down for some loose powder or powder foundations.  So in line with the above mentioned tendencies, my favorite types of foundations are sheer ones which give a natural dewy look. I am not a fan of pure matte finishes and heavy duty ones.

Till I met Mac F & B, I had given up on foundations and had really started to think foundations are meant to be thick and there is nothing called a perfect foundation. When some worked for me in terms on coverage, it failed in finish and vice versa! MAC face and body foundation is a water based sheer coverage foundation that almost has the consistency of your daily face lotions. Face and body Lotion comes in a plastic bottle with a nozzle for dispensing product.

I use C5 in F&B and its a perfect match for me.The coverage is minimal more like a tinted moisturizer but is very much buildable by layering. I suggest you wait a few seconds for the first layer to settle down before working on with the second and the next. No matter how many layers you have on, it never leaves the light weight and natural look territory, so no worries there. . As the name says, the foundation is not solely for the face. It works well as a body foundation not only because of the easy blendability but also for the water resistant properties. Also a noteworthy point is that there is absolutely no oxidising.

The finish of the foundation as per MAC is a natural satin finish and the result on me is a perfect dewy finish which I love. I believe it will suit normal to dry to skin much better for the same reason. With a little bit of powder setting it might work on combination skins too, if you are not looking for a matte or demi matte coverage. However I don’t see oily skin types being a huge fan of the foundation because layering can intensify the dewiness to the level being uncomfortable for you. So do try it on you before taking the plunge.

The foundation stays fresh on me for about 6-7 hours which is all I want. Once set, it is water resistant and does not transfer. It photographs really well even with flash photography and that’s rare with good foundations.

Overall if you are looking for a light weight water resistant everyday foundation that gives dewy finish, look no more.
